Global Luxury Forum
Ritz Carlton, Moscow, Russia, 8 December 2008

The second annual Global Luxury Forum took place in Moscow on 8 December 2008. Over 40 speakers, 540 delegates and 110 senior editors and journalists from all over the world took part in the one-day conference, dedicated to exploring the development of the luxury sector.

Key issues facing the worldwide luxury industry were discussed during the event - in the plenary meetings, the thematic panel sessions, as well as on the sidelines of the conference proceedings. Amongst the topics covered were the impact of the global financial crisis on the luxury sector; the future of luxury; new developing markets; high-end real estate and luxury travel; wellness and private healthcare in Russia; private banking and wealth management; Russia as one of the world’s primary sources of precious metals and gems; and innovation in jewellery design.

One of the most intensively discussed themes of the conference was the jewellery sector – and the spotlight was shone firmly on palladium – touted by many as a precious metal of the future. The metal was presented at the Global Luxury Forum by Russian mining giant Norilsk Nickel, one of the world’s leading palladium producers with 40% of the world market share.

Just like Eventica’s other large-scale business events, the Global Luxury Forum will serve as a platform for professionals to communicate and exchange invaluable information. The conference will not only create an opportunity for brand promotion but also for distributors who are interested in forging new contacts in the industry of goods and services of luxury class. Our diversified partnerships with companies and organisations from the whole world make Global Luxury Forum an ideal platform for expert analysis and discussion of national and local specifics which are very important for further development of new markets.

The official programme of the Global Luxury Forum came to end with the glamorous Global Luxury Gala, which was attended by crème-de-la-crème of Moscow business society, key players of luxury industry and celebrities.

The ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton hotel was decorated with exclusive flower arrangements in beautiful vases resembling palladium. The main ornament of the evening was provided by jewellery house Carrera y Carrera and was presented by Victoria Tostoganova, Tatiana Gevorkian and Avrora.
